Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about studying in the UK with free Studywise support.

Applications

Simply book a free call with one of our advisors. We'll discuss your goals, suggest suitable courses, and walk you through every step β€” from choosing a university to submitting your documents. There's no paperwork for you to figure out on your own.
From your first call to receiving a university offer typically takes 2–4 weeks, depending on the course and the upcoming intake. We push to make it as fast as possible without rushing the important steps.
Yes β€” we can help you explore multiple options simultaneously. We'll narrow down the best-fit universities for your situation and submit applications strategically to maximise your chances of an offer.
Typically: a valid photo ID (passport or driving licence), proof of address, and any qualifications you have (though no qualifications are required for most of our foundation-year routes). We'll give you a personalised checklist on your first call.

Eligibility

That's completely fine. Many of our partner universities offer foundation-year programmes specifically designed for students without formal qualifications. Each case is assessed individually β€” don't let a lack of GCSEs or A-levels stop you from enquiring.
We support British Citizens, EU Citizens, those with Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), Refugees, and Asylum Seekers who are residing in the UK. Ages 18–65 are all welcome. If you're unsure whether you qualify, book a free call and we'll tell you within minutes.
No β€” we work with students all across the UK. Our primary office is in Manchester but we support students in London, Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow, and many other cities. Remote consultations via phone or video call are available.

Student Finance

Student Finance England (or the equivalent in Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland) provides a Tuition Fee Loan that covers your course fees and a Maintenance Loan to help with living costs. You only start repaying once you're earning above the repayment threshold β€” and only a small percentage of your income above that amount.
No. With student finance, your tuition fees are paid directly to the university by the Student Loans Company. You receive your Maintenance Loan in instalments throughout the year. You never need to find tuition fees out of pocket.
Absolutely β€” this is one of the most popular parts of our service. We help you register on the Student Finance portal, complete the application, upload supporting documents, and track the status of your loan. Many of our students find the process much less daunting with a guide beside them.
It depends. If you completed a full degree previously, you may not be eligible for another Tuition Fee Loan for an equivalent or lower level qualification. However, there are exceptions β€” for example, if you're changing to an entirely different field. Book a call and we'll check your specific situation.

Studying

We work with universities offering degrees across Business, Computing, Law, Psychology, Healthcare, Education, Accounting, Criminology, Social Care, Construction, Marketing, Engineering, Sport, Graphic Design, Tourism, and many more. Browse our full catalogue on the Courses page.
Yes β€” many of our partner universities offer part-time and fully online study options so you can balance your studies with work and family life. Filter by Study Mode on the Courses page to see what's available.

Support

Yes β€” our service is completely free to you. We're funded by our university partners, so you never pay a single penny for advice, guidance, or application support. There are no hidden fees whatsoever.
We're there through enrolment day and into your first term. We also help with any issues that come up β€” accommodation queries, student finance problems, or questions about your timetable. Think of us as a long-term partner in your university journey.
